Arml, Amc/aime/usamo, Gpml, Usamts

How important are all of these math competitions on college apps? Would entering some of these be considered an extra curricular (USAMTS is all year long, GPML has many competitions as well). Are they worth putting on an app?

Of course! The contests show passion for mathematics, which always comes in handy. After all, MT's app even has a designated space for AIME/AMC scores.

*MIT's app

I wouldn't consider them EC's.

Would MIT accept alot of math awards but no science awards? I'm not very good at science...

MIT has a space for AIME scores
You are basically accepted to Caltech if your USAMO

Yeah, but my lack of science really worries me...MIT is my dream school, but I don't want to study science stuff, I'll study econ or business prolly with a math minor. So will my lack of science stuff hurt me?

I'd say it depends on how well you did. If you made AIME, definitely put it down. Of course if you made USAMO that may be the best thing you have in the college's eyes. If your ARML team finished in the top 10 or something, definitely put that down too.

Of course, there is no harm in putting everything you have down, but some achievements are worth more than others.

Thanks for the input. Now where would you guys say these things rank in comparison to some random clubs like science olympiad/Mu Alpha Theta/NHS?
