I was told that the refs were late showing up for the Army vs Kings Point (USMMA) rugby game and that the Army players got back on their bus and went back to West Point. The Kings Point players offered to play anyway but I guess they had things to do.

The Army Black Knights (12-5-3), the 2008 reigning Patriot League Women’s Soccer Champions, make the program’s first NCAA Tournament appearance Friday when they take on No. 16th-ranked Virginia (13-4-3) in a first round of the 2008 NCAA Women’s Soccer Tournament.

“It is so exciting to be playing a team of Virginia’s caliber,” said retiring Army coach Gene Ventriglia, tabbed the league’s coach of the year for the sixth time. “I don’t know much about them, but obviously they are a quality team from the ACC.”

The Black Knights face the host Cavaliers, the No. 2 seed in the 16-team UCLA Region, in the first round Friday, Nov. 14, 5 p.m. at Kockner Stadium in Charlottesville, Va. It is the 15th consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance and 21st overall for the Cavaliers, who are an at-large selection.
