GOAT BUSTER MISSION COMPLETE
Brig. Gen. Robert L. Caslen, Jr., Commandant of Cadets (Class of 1975) and Brig. Gen. Patrick Finnegan, Dean of the Academic Board (Class of 1971), celebrate after a successful Army air assault spirit mission on the Plain Nov. 27. Finnegan and Caslen, along with the Cadet First Captain, Jason Crabtree and other members of the Corps of Cadets, rescued the Black Knight mascot, Black Jack, from a naval assault force. This was just one of several spirit missions dedicated to Army/Navy week. The Black Knights will take on the Goats of Navy Dec. 1 at M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore, MD.
hope the mids give a well measured response!!!! like the year the exchange students captured the cannons and hoisted them atop the barracks---- aimed at the parade field! According to WP tour guides, what took the mids "a few hours under the cover of night" took the WP engineers "over a week to get them down"....!!!!!!!!!

or the morning when the entire corps assembled on the parade grounds for meal formation, only to see the sign on the Supe's porch "reversed" to read "GO NAVY BEAT ARMY"....!!!!!!!

gotta love them!!!!!!! :)

Now, we get down to the SERIOUS business!

Go NAVY! Whoop WPs!!

Oh, it's on now!

GO NAVY! BEAT ARMY!

I think your tour guide has his/her story confused. It was not exchange students that pulled off this prank.

"Douglas MacArthur, who was number-one man in his class of 1903, engineered the removal of the reveille cannon to the top of the clock tower in what is now Pershing Barracks. It took the post engineers, working in daylight, several days to remove the cannon the cadets had moved in one night." quote from: "Duty First" by Ed Ruggero - page 46

If Douglas MacArthur was given credit for the cannon-moving stunt, then it was probably his mother's idea in the first place!

"He may also have been the only cadet in the history of the academy whose mother lived in the hotel at West Point during the entire four years of his cadetship...She remained at West Point so she could be with Douglas every day and could look out from the window of her room at Craney's Hotel every night to his window in the barracks, to see how late he stayed up studying."

Talk about meddling moms! Hmm, mando study hours, sounds familiar...

The BDU wear out date for us is not until next year, so we still wear existing BDUs..

LOL!!!! Well no doubt he was influenced by the visiting Mids!!!!!! (no way he was an army of one!!! ) ;)

Doug's meddling mom was a Helicopter Parent before helicopters were invented!!

Bill has fender-bender while hiding from Army pranksters - Naval Academy - (HometownAnnapolis.com)

A sly attempt to hide Bill the Goat from Army pranksters last night drew police attention when the mascot's handlers ran into a parked car while backing into a space at an Annapolis parking garage.

The man - decked out in head-to-toe Navy garb - and woman in charge of protecting the goat in the hours before the 108th annual Army-Navy football game, said they were trying to hide the mascot in an apartment at 1901 West complex so that it could not be stolen before the big event....
