This year's Army-Navy football game marks the 107th edition of the interservice rivalry, and the 80th game to be played in Philadelphia. The kick-off at Lincoln Financial Field is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. and the game will be televised nationally by CBS and worldwide by Westwood One and Armed Forces Radio. Additional information on the game and weekend activities is available at www.phillylovesarmynavy.com.

I've been to the Army-Navy game four times, and I would recommend that IF you can get an actual seat, then by all means go and have a great time. There really is no other experience like it.

However, I would caution anyone on going on a standing-room-only basis. I just don't think that would be much fun. Seriously. If that were my only option, I'd stay home and watch it on the boob tube and at least be somewhat comfortable.

Motivating the Navy football team over the next two weeks will not be a tough task for coach Paul Johnson. It never is when it's time for the Midshipmen to prepare to face Army.

In the wake of Saturday's 42-6 rout of Temple, the third consecutive blowout recorded by the Mids, Navy looks ready for the final phase of its season, which concludes with the Meineke Car Care Bowl on Dec. 30. That doesn't mean Johnson isn't looking for more buttons to push....

Navy's offensive numbers continue to pile up at a remarkable rate.

The Midshipmen have exploded for 137 points and 1,396 yards over the last three games, marching up and down the field at will then finishing drives with touchdowns instead of field goals....

Green-shirted Notre Dame stumbled around for one quarter before scoring 34 points over the next 20 minutes on the way to a 41-9 rout of Army. The win boosted the Irish to 10-1 on the season and served as a fitting home farewell to a group of seniors that have earned a special place in the hearts of Notre Dame fans. Brady Quinn and Darius Walker led the offense while Derek Landri and Mike Richardson were the defensive stalwarts.

Notre Dames habit of scoring on its first possession came to an abrupt end when a holding penalty was followed by a rare Quinn interception. Jeff Samardzija was bumped off his route by an Army linebacker, and free safety Jordan Murray was the only player around when the ball arrived....

Army Grads Will be flying 2 of the Navy Jets..

Paul Campagna (USMA '93) and I, Bobby Baker (USMA '93), both currently serve as Naval Aviators in Strike Fighter Squadron 86 (The Sidewinders). Paul acts as the maintenance officer while I serve as the tactics and training officer. We both fly F/A-18C single seat hornets and just finished combat operations in both Afghanistan and Iraq while deployed in the USS Enterprise (CVN-65). Recently we flew together as a section in support of Coalition forces in Afghanistan. We were called upon to employ ordnance and that significant event brought to light the probable fact that the last time two West Point Grads employed weapons in combat together from fighter/attack jet aircraft was probably Vietnam or possibly Korea/World War II. It was truly a great experience that Paul and I will never forget.
The main reason that I am writing is to inform everyone that Paul and I will be flying 2 of the 4 hornets for the flyby at the Army-Navy game this year. I'm pretty sure that two West Point grads flying Navy jets over the Army-Navy game has never happened. I find this event truly remarkable and am totally stoked to be given this opportunity from our Boat School (Annapolis Grad) CO. Some may think of us as traitors (When I transferred to the Navy, my grandfather actually wrote a letter to the Army Soccer Coach apologizing for my decision), but believe me when I tell you that we're making the U.S. fighting force much more lethal with a focus towards
servicing bad guys on the ground. It's gonna be a great game and we're looking forward to reuniting with old friends. BEAT NAVY!!!!!

Thank You,

Pretty quiet over there on the Army board.

This is America's Game.

For the 107th time, Army and Navy will battle on the field, in front of a sellout crowd Dec. 2 at Lincoln Financial Field. At stake is the Commander-In-Chief's trophy....

During his three seasons at West Point, Army coach Bobby Ross has observed signs of progress in a program that was badly in need of recovery when he arrived.

The Black Knights train in an upgraded weight room that opened several years ago, and Ross said numerous players have improved their strength as a result. Soon, the school will unveil a $16 million indoor training facility that should further enhance the team's offseason training. The four victories by Army last year marked the most the team has produced since it went 4-7 in 1997....

Mayor John F. Street declared Army-Navy football the greatest rivalry in all of sports and said the game belongs in Philadelphia.

Sure, Navy has outscored Army by an average of 31 points during its current, four-game winning streak over the Black Knights. But if you think the Midshipmen are approaching the 107th meeting with Army on Dec. 2 with any hint of casual preparation, listen to senior inside linebacker and co-captain Rob Caldwell.

"I don't think we need to reach back for [added motivation]," said Caldwell, who leads the Mids with 95 tackles and three forced fumbles. "From Day One when you show up here, it's 'Go Navy. Beat Army.' I can't tell you how many times I've heard that."...

With a month of preseason practices, 11 games played and three rigorous months of life at the Naval Academy in the books, Navy football coach Paul Johnson understands the importance of keeping his players from physical exhaustion at this point of the season.

As a number of injuries have started taking their toll on Navy, Johnson is looking for way to keep his team fresh as it prepares for its two biggest games of the year: Army on Dec. 2 and the Meineke Car Care Bowl on Dec. 30. Johnson has altered the team’s practice schedule and cut back on full-pad workouts during the week to keep players fresh while also making sure they are in game shape....
