Everyone talks about how there is so much to do in Atlanta, and whatnot.

But what about directly around Emory. Since freshmen won't really have cars, I'd like to know if there is a decent amount of stuff to do within walking distance of Emory. Are there coffee shops, small grocery stores, boutiques, etc.?

there’s a couple of places across the street in “Emory Village”. I don’t recall a coffee shop (but there must a be a Starbucks!). CVS, gas station, (great) pizza place, other eateries, couple of boutiques…

suggesting these sorts of things tends to help people find themselves abducted and on their way to Mexico at 3 AM with no way to get back…just sayin.

Ah. I’m so anti Starbucks (I know, I’m conforming to non-conforming). And I think it depends what you mean by expensive. Like, I’ve been to Cafe Intermezzo in Atlanta before and I thought the cool atmosphere outweighed the increased price.

I’m double majoring in Chemistry, Psychology, and minoring in Film.

YES! A CVS! Now I can buy juice/milk/yoohoos for my mini-fridge! I am now happy!

Steven, you need to hone the skill of dodging traffic. ;)

I’m a city guy so I definitely have that down haha. But, I was with my mom and she always waits for the walk signal:(. And how can you be anti Starbucks!?! I loooooooove their vanilla bean fraps

Ah, well, Steven. You won’t be walking around with your mom when you’re at college, so things will be better! =]

I just sprint across the walkway. If I have flip flops on, I take them off, carry them, and hope to hell that I don’t scrape my toes on the pavement!
