I know "admissions looks at many factors other than your scores and your stats" but most people admitted into, say, Stanford have SATs of mid 2300s

So, if Stanford is mid 2300, what is Cornell?

yea but 2 kids from my sister's got into stanford with like 2000s. basically, u can never tell with these schools.

2200+ is pretty safe i'd say

Stanford is mid 2300s? Sweeeet. But it's actually pretty random. =T I agree with cory123; 750 on each section is probably good.

well what about 750+ (770 wr,780 ma) on 2 sections, and a 730?

lol i know its gonna be random but still ...

SAT only contributes 20% or less to admissions. It's not "random" it just doesnt matter.

i read somewhere though, that cornell is a bit more into sat's, ie weigh more

severed, I think your score is pretty much a match for Cornell.

fhqwgads2005, it does matter. If it didn't matter, why do colleges require it. And 20% is 1/5 of your whole application. If you didn't have that, you'd have to be perfect everywhere else and only be 80% qualified.

it matters of course, but the fact that it only counts for 20% of the app means you can have people with less than 1900 who make it and people with 2400 who dont

I would say over 2100 for Cornell - it's not as competititve as some of the other Ivy Leagues. Plus - everyone here is right, it really depends on the person and their personal application.

800 Math and Writing, 700 Verbal !!
I took the january test went from 2120 to 2300!

If i'm looking at schools like Penn cornell brown etc... will a bad SAT II score in history (not what i want to study at all- business rather) hurt my chances. and i'm talkin real bad, like 560 (although i did get 800 math2 and was planning on taking physics satII in october for penn ED)

what was the math curve for june 2nd like anyone know

What about in terms of the 1600 scoring scale? Is 1400 and over okay for Cornell?

yes it is okay.
