<p>you’re fine. i believe you don’t actually break out into groups until 8:30 or 9:00pm. there are tables set up for the incoming freshies to register and get their orientation goodies. afterwards, you fill out an evaluation form before you break up into groups and meet your orientation counselor. there’s time to hang out and relax. </p>
<p>me, i’m going to sneak in and get some free donuts that are set up for you all. it’s easier to get them from the parents orientation day tho.</p>
<p>I dont think you start taking placement tests until noonish. Plus people are coming from all over and you’ll probably arrive by 8am which is fair. </p>
<p>My guess is everyone will lallygag and fraternize for a couple hours until a fellow with a megaphone tells them where to go.</p>

<p>they group similar majors together based on what you put on your application. sorta disadvantageous for me, since i was put into an engineering group when i decided to switch from comp sci to bio.</p>
<p>LOL，you will be fine. It starts to check in at 7:30. The first presentation starts at 8:30.
The group is formed by major and your orientation counselor(7-8 students per orientation counselor)
The most important thing for orientation is to decide what class you should take in the fall. You can discuss it with your department counselor at 1:30. After 8:00, you get to enroll the class.
Bring your laptop if you can, it will make things easier. (you can check class schedule, watch movie, play some games when you are waiting for something…Waiting is necessary at orientation because there will be a lot of people…) LOL</p>
<p>you meet with your counselors @ 11 pm, honestly i regret going there by 730 cus it just sucked all the energy out of me and it was a waste of time watching the presentations. Just get there whenever you can- recommended is 1030. You also get separated into groups of 7-8 people with the same major as you. You<code>ll be fine, have fun and definately bring water and laptop to sign up for classes… it</code>ll definately make it easier for you.</p>
