Is it just me, or do the Chicago essays force you to think and come up with original answers more than any other. It's not necessarily a bad thing, I just have absolutely no idea what to write. It's hard to draw meaning out of everything when your trying to fit it into the prompt. Oh man, I need some help.

are they out yet?

They don't call it the Uncommon Application for nothing. Just be glad you don't have to write an essay "inspired by a huge jar of mustard" like I did. :p

hrhcow, they come out later in the summer (July?), I believe.

the mustard one sounded cool...no joke...

I did a nice variation on the mustard jar question for one of my essays. (I sent in two answering those crazy questions.) I love those UChicago questions, as they all one to simply go wild and just have some good, plain fun with them. Reading them over again, I think my essays turned out pretty well because of that. :-)

Lol. I can't wait to see this years. I'm probably end up inventing my own crazy one though. Originality points, plus you can write on what your good at, plus there won't be 150 people who wrote the same thing as you.

Actually, I think the new questions are out right now on their website. I'm probably either going to make my own or do the Zen Master Quote. This is not going to be ez...

I thought the website said apps get mailed in July sometime. I think those are last years.

The zen quote is definitely last year's.

yea, which is odd, because on the app with the zen quote, string etc, its says '06-07.

Yeah, it was for those who were applying to be admitted for the 06-07 academic year.

Yeah, I was just as confused. Actually, I think last year's essays were a little harder compared to the essays of the past. Thank you all for the pointer.

I reused an essay. It's definitely possible.

I picked cake frosting and ran with it. Just write about anything.

How do you know the prompt already Divanny?

I don't know the prompt. One of the prompts lets you pick your own topic, and that was mine for last year.

I destroyed a question.

LOL neverborn, what was the question's cause of death?
