<p>As an artist attending Stanford, I feel that the art scene is rather weak, but ultimately what you make of it. Compared to liberal arts schools and even Yale, Stanford's art studio program is underfunded and underappreciated in the student body. Many students are science and math focused, and simply don;t pay attention to art.</p>
<p>Nonetheless, Stanford has a good art museum, some decent art studio space, and some cool sculptures. You can paint and draw and photograph to your heart's content in these studios. We also have agreat art history department.</p>
<p>So, if you are a serious artist, hoping to pursue only art, I would not reccomend Stanford. If, however, you want to study something else academic (science, history, etc) and then do art on the side or in addition, Stanford might work for you.</p>
