Art History in the Midwest?

I currently live in the western suburbs of Chicago and my parents want me to stay within the Midwest for college. I was wondering if anyone knew of some schools with good art history programs in the Midwest.

I've already started looking and this whole art history thing is a pretty recent development. I'm thinking I want to go to a pretty small LAC, so if anyone knows anything about the departments at Carleton, Grinnell, Macalester, Oberlin, Knox, or Kalamazoo, that'd be wonderful, too.

Add Beloit and Lawrence to your list. Both are excellent LACs that offer Art History majors.

I would check out Northwestern and UChicago. The Chicago areas has access to some of the best art galleries and museums (AIC, MCA, etc.) in the Midwest. I would also consider Univ of Michigan if you want to escape Illinois. The Detroit Institute of Arts is one of the best art museums in the country.
