Hi all, I just graduated with an art history BA degree from a top 35. I want to work for art businesses (probably for-profit) in the future. I am considering to apply for grad school next year. My professors suggested me to go for art history, because it is more valuable (in their opinions) and I have a pretty strong academic record. I feel an art management program can be more helpful for me to develop a career in the art industry. However, I also heard that most art management programs today are too “easy” and not well-designed.
Please give me some suggestions about the programs. Right now I am thinking about Columbia and NYU. A school in an urban setting would be the best for opportunities, but in general I am down for anything great. UK also works for me. I am a member of Phi Beta Kappa with a very high GPA, which can take me to the best grad schools (of course I also need to work hard). I have no plan for a doctorate degree.
