COW is on my daughter's short list and was wondering if anyone has info about this department. Thanks.

applicantmum77--My daughter is a sophomore at Wooster. (She loves it there!) By the end of this semester, she has to declare her major--she's wavered a bit between art history and archeology, but at this point seems to be leaning strongly toward the former; she'll be doing her study abroad this coming spring semester in Florence, Italy, and as it's the center of Renaissance art, it makes perfect sense. The art history department at Wooster has been fantastic so far, with a good range of class options, and great professors who teach their subjects well.

Great to hear. We visited in the summer, so daughter is wondering what the students are like. Also, is the IS one of 4 or 5 classes senior year or the only class? Thanks.

I know an art history major at Wooster, and she absolutely loves the program! I know two other Wooster students as well, and all three are bright, academically engaged people with an astonishing number of extracurricular activities. The school itself seemed like a lot of fun- one of them told me that a tradition for the first snowfall is for everyone to coming running out to create a huge pile of snow in one of the archways. I met Prof. Lucey (and Prof. Kardulias in archaeology) this summer when he volunteered on our dig, and he was amazing- extremely knowledgeable and funny.

The Senior IS is only part of your course load senior year.
