<p>i'm currently taking russian because i thought that i wanted to work for the government or in international law. but i've always loved art and now i really would like to pursue art history. i'm wondering what the major languages are required for art history? german, itailian, and french? i will either go on to grad school for a phd or law school still. any ideas?</p>
<p>It depends on what type of art history (what region, epoch etc) German is the language of 19th century and early 20th century art history. I have my masters and focused on Quattrocento Italy. I needed German, Italian, French
and Latin.</p>
