Art Portfolio Question

I want to send a supplementary art portfolio, but I'm not sure how to go about it. I believe I have several drawings laying around over years. I am also taking Architecture right now, and have done a few floor plans.

However, my teacher grades these floor plans and writes things onto them using a red pen. Can I still use these floor plans for my portfolio? (He wrote comments like "this darker," "excellent," and circled what he was referring to.) Overall, I think his comments and grades do not deter the viewer in seeing the floor plan as it should be. But I would like to know if the schools would accept this in a supplementary art portfolio. How about for an architecture portfolio (I might be applying to architecture school later on)? Though I don't know if there's a difference between the two portfolios...

Also, around how many works should I have? Do I NEED to have photographs as one of the mediums? And should I sign my name on my works (on the back or the front)?

Thanks so much. I would appreciate any help.

Anyone =/?

Bump...................

Someone must know the answer to at least one of my questions =[

most schools will have information on what they prefer for art portfolios. all schools accept slides as far as i know, some schools take dvds/cds. usually art portfolios involve traditional media, so i don't really know if architecture would be acceptable - again, check with your schools. you don't need photography - in fact, i don't even know if they'd accept it. signing your name isn't really an issue, i don't think, and if you signed in on the back how would they see it? you can't send originals (or you shouldn't, at least). as for the number, again schools will state how many pieces they'd like. i'm submitting probably around 9 to most of my schools.

sartorialiste, thanks for answering. The thing is that the schools I'm submitting this supplemental portfolio to, aren't art schools. I don't believe they specify what should be in there, so that's why I was asking. I know for a fact one of my schools asks you not to give slides. I know that for architecture schools, portfolios have an average of like 17 pieces, and they like to see a few photos. But being a simple supplemental portfolio, I'm not sure if it adheres to the same standards.
