<p>Did anyone here submit the optional art portfolio and reccomendation?</p>

<p>i put one in and am hoping it helps - i spend a ton of time each week on my artwork and independent research for ib studio art - but i get the sense it's not taken all that seriously</p>
<p>I don't know about art, but the instructions on the music form seems to say, don't bother unless your submission is really going to make the day of the music professor who listens to it.</p>
<p>That scared me a bit about submitting my art, but then I realized that it can't really hurt you, only help you.</p>

<p>I really felt like it was important because of the rigor of our program. It is a high level IB course with lots of independent art history research, as well as in depth projects, much more than just an elective. The amount of time artists and muscians put in is often equal to being involved in a sport and I think it gets short changed.</p>
