Hi all,

I recently got accepted into UCLA and USC, but I'm interested as to which school is better and more well known for their art programs?

Thanks, any opinions would help. :)

UCLA Fine Arts program is now one of the top programs in the country.
New York galleries frequently mine the MFA pool of grads for new talent.
USC ---not well regaurded except for film.

alvinc--welcome to CC!

S graduated from UCLA in Design|Media Arts in 2005 and has had a successful career ever since. He speaks very highly of the caliber of the art program overall. Networking post-graduation is also very good.

Good luck with your decision!

Even as a USC grad (architecture), our art department didn't seem that strong. I used to drop in on the exhibits sometimes, and while some of it was quite good, the majority of the work was just plain wierd, and I was hard pressed to guess what the people exhibiting expected to do to support themselves when they graduated. The connections in pretty much any department of USC are excellent, however.

Thank you everyone for your comments.

Coincidentally i was accepted into the DMA program and am quite excited to see how it goes :)
