Art Requirement for Admission? What's up w/that

can you satisfy it in your senior year and still be considered for admission by the application deadline? Will they asume you will complete the class on a year-long basis, even though admission decisions are made by April 1, and the course won't be completed until June? Simply put, do you have to satisfy the requirement by the end of your junior H.S. year? OOS residents are largely unaware of this requirement and many have taken mechanical drafting, woodshop, etc. as electives. May have to revamp schedule for upcoming year or try to satisfy w/AP test I guess.

This is not even a question… if you think again with brain.

English requirement is four yrs, is everyone going to get four yr of English at the end of their junior yr?

Unless you drop the class eventually (Or ended up with unsatisfactory AP score), otherwise your admission will not be affected.

“so you’re telling me there’s a chance”-to quote Lloyd from Dumb and Dumber. Guess I should have thought it through. But it means dropping an AP or honors class from the schedule senior year, which would otherwise really help at some of the other colleges at which I’m looking. Guess I gotta make a choice. Oh well, since I’m OOS I could just apply to USC instead—won’t cost much more the way they are raising tuition at the UCs.

You can always take the art class at a local CC.

good suggestion, thx. Berkeley draws from everywhere I realize, but does a regular guy from the Northeast add to the geographic mix they might be seeking, assuming the stats are roughly in-range ? Also, don’t require financial aid. Most universities say they are need blind, but I hear stories of Admissions offices having 2 piles that they review–Needs Financial Assistance/Can Pay His/Her Own Way. Actually know it happens from a friend who temped in one such office and a parent who saw the two piles at another major university.
