So untill recently I wasnt really planning on applying anywhere in California, but a month ago I visited UCLA and its become one of my top schools. Problem is that I live in Georgia and here theres no visual art requirement, and honestly theres not that many classes offered, so I've never taken anything that would fulfill the UC requirement. I'm trying to get my schedule changed for next semesterr, but that wont really help since the application is due in about a week. Is there anything i can do? and how strict are they on the requirement, would it still be worth apllying?

i believe it's a visual/performing art/foreign language req? you only need two out of the three. not sure if applied art counts, but i don't think it does.

if your school offers any visual/performing art whatsoever and you don't take a year of it, you aren't eligible. so if you don't have it right now you'll probably have to take a class at a community college and say that you are on the UC application.

You must fulfill the entirety of the a-g requirements.

A: History or Social Sciences, 2 years.
B: English, 4 years.
C: Math, 3 years, 4 recommended.
D: Lab Science, 2 years, 3 recommended.
E: Non-English Language, 2 years, 3 recommended.
F: Visual and Performing Arts, 1 year.
G: College-Prep Elective, 1 year.

Hmm... call the admissions office (google UCLA Murphy Hall admissions) and contact someone. Monday is the 26th and you have until the 30th... add an addendum to one of the responses or wherever in regards to taking a community college course satisfying said visual arts requirement either in the winter or spring or summer quarters in 2008 and explain the situation at your school. In any case, call the admissions office first on how you should proceed. After that, gauge whether or not you would be willing to make the investment.

I was OOS and took piano classes @ the local JC/CC to fulfill the requirement.
