Mine got his email today too and with 24k merit! Yay! Wondering too if once they get our FAFSA if we’ll get a little more (fingers crossed…)

What did your S apply for? D’s is Comm Design. When do we find about about FAFSA?
S applied for Illustration. The letter had a mini-list of what to do next and the last I copied below:
(4) Complete Your FAFSA: If you wish to be considered for federal financial aid, please file the FAFSA (Free
Application for Federal Student Aid). The New School’s Federal School Code is 002780. You can expect a follow-up
award letter detailing aid eligibility. If you have already submitted your FAFSA, you will receive a financial aid package
within 7-10 business days. If you do not receive your financial aid package in that time frame, please contact
sfs@newschool.edu.
I’m pretty sure hubs already did the FAFSA (the lone math major at our house gets tasked with all that!!) but will double check with him tonight. But that’s nice we may get such a quick turnaround. D didn’t do as many EAs so I wasn’t sure how long we’d have to wait to know full package.
@ArtAngst Thank you! D sent me a screenshot of the letter and that too part of it at 7AM. I didn’t see any other detail. D filled out the FAFSA with my husband (I stay far away from these numbers 
). I guess waiting for the packet now. The lady at NPD was asking D if she knew anyone who would be willing to share “out of dorm” with her that way the living costs are reduced. I guess they are aware of the high cost of living in the city.
Now to wait for Pratt and MICA …
D just got an email from SVA saying she is accepted. No scholarship info yet. The email mentioned that they mailed out a packet. Anyone else heard from them?
@SomaRathore New to this thread but I heard from SVA today. I recieved two emails (both saying mail was on the way). One was my acceptance, and the other was notifying me that I recieved the Silas H Rhodes scholarship. Glad to hear someone else has been accepted!
I’ve also so far been accepted to Parsons and VCUarts, both with merit.
@preraphaelitefan D got into Parsons with merit. No word from SVA about any scholarship. No second email here. She hasnt heard from VCU either. When did VCUARTs send out decisions?
@SomaRathore I recieved mail from VCUarts on the 8th, and an email yesterday. I live 20 minutes away from the school so I expect that’s why I recieved my mail so quickly. The email is what tells you if you’ve recieved merit (though you don’t know the amount until spring).
@preraphaelitefan Thank you for the info and congrats! We have heard nothing from them via email either other than Thanksgiving wishes after the application!
@SomaRathore our area got hit with a bunch of snow the day after I recieved my mail, so I expect some of the letters have been waylaid by that (depending on how far you are)

Update on SVA: found the scholarship email from SVA in a diff folder! Its the Silas H Rhodes and the amount of $9000 per year is what she has.

Do you guys also have to claim the scholarship in 2 weeks? Mine was for $12500, and even with that I’m not sure I can afford it, let alone make that decision in 2 weeks.
@preraphaelitefan thats the time the email says. SVA is out here too. It wasnt her top in the list anyway and with this little amount compared to other schools there is no question at all now.
My D received information today from SFAI via snail mail. She was offered a $15,000 presidential scholarship.
Still waiting for MICA, California College of the Arts and SAIC.
