Many of the top programs, according to rankings at least, are in larger university's not centered around design. Does anyone have any opinions or insight on the programs offered at "specialty" design schools? I asking primarily about the following, but if you know of others, please share!
Tyler School of Art
Pratt Institute
Savannah College of Art and Design
Rhode Island School of Deisgn
Cooper Union (I realize they also have engineering, but they are mostly known as an art school)

^I applied to more technical based schools. I would remind you tough that all 5 yr BArch programs (I don’t know if any of those have the 5 yrs) all have to have a number of studio design classes. Also if they are 5 yr program they must have structural classes etc.

Make sure you research them at the NAAB website and the school’s website and read more about the difference between 4 and 5 yr programs if some only have the 4 yrs.

Other than that all are great, great schools and good luck!
