i'm applying to cornell bio. is there much difference in applying for either the college art/sci or agr/ls? and in terms of admission as well?

i think CAS has a higher acceptance rate

I thought agr/ls has higher acceptance rate...?

both are about equally tougher to get into i believe. CALS in general has the higher acceptance rate, though I do know that bio is among the toughest majors to be accepted to (they separate applications by major).

I say try ag/ls if you are indiffferent towards the two. Its cheaper and its a unique school. As easy as they try to make it sound its kinda hard to transfer between schools.

Correct me if im wrong I don't want to be attacked

i think that you're right about CALS (although if he's not a NYS resident, the school is only like $1000 cheaper) but with regard to transferring btwn schools, it is pretty easy. i hope that that wasn't misconstrued as an "attack" :)

i'm not sure if i'm correct but when i visited cornell n the student brought me to the [and other ny funded parts] college als it wasn't as "pretty" as the part of campus where A/S was... its not a big deal but it was one of the deciding factors for me, because i felt that if the appearance was different [more big, factory-like rectangular buildings and stuff??] then i wonder how the inside differs. but again, i might be wrong! lol just saying..

hahaha WHAT??!!! umm....the Ag quad, for example, has beautiful buildings just as the arts quad does. the ilr school has nice buildings, the arch. school does too, etc etc. i think that most of cornell is beautiful, except for some modern buildings which aren't so cool.

actually, i think the contract colleges are getting more renovations than the endowed ones are:

ILR is in the second phase of a COMPLETE overhaul, 4 buildings have already been finished

HumEc is currently going through some major renovations at MVR

CALS just got a $18,000,000 upgrade on bailey hall, and the main ag building was done just a few years ago

The Vet school received a $50,000,000 grant from the state to continue its renovations.

Besides, you're not stuck in one place the whole time.

lol oops i guess i was mistaken i wouldn't be surprised though, we [my school] went during freshmen orientation week so they didn't give us a tour guide, just an alumni from 10 years ago who went to cornell grad, not undergrad but yeah i don't know why i'm explaining haha whatever =)
