Art supplement help!

I'm contemplating filling out the art supplement for colleges I'm applying to.

I'm a photographer, it's not neccessarily what I want to do as a major, but all through high school I've done it as a hobby and I've made a little business of it: I take people's senior portraits, family christmas card pictures, etc. and get paid for it.

I listed this in my list of extracurriculars, so I'm not sure if it would be fruitful for me to send an arts supplement?

And the supplement form itself has left me so confused!

The top-most box, where it says to select your area of interest and give supplementary materials, I naturally selected visual arts. Then 6 empty boxes popped up underneath with photography, painting, drawing, design, art studio, and other listed underneath them. What am I supposed to put in these boxes, and do they expect me to send in supplementary materials in ALL of these?!?!?

And there is no art teacher that is familiar with my photography, so I don't know how she'd be able to write a letter or recommendation.

And then there is a portion saying I need a 10-minute presentation of my work on a web address link? Whaaaaat? I was thinking I'd send in my photography via CD with the images or mail my portfolio!

So, as one can see I need massive help. Or guidance telling me that an art supplement would not be helpful to me anyway.

A huge thank you in advance to whoever answers my questions for me. MUCH APPRECIATED!

im an artist too, and im sending my stuff… Here’s how i did it.

First of all, be sure the schools ur applying to even accept the art supplement, cuz most of mine dont… So there u dont have to worry about the recommendation letter or the 10 min presentation

Secondly, i took my letter of recommendation from an arts instructor who’d been familiar with my work. One of my other friends didnt have anyone to recommend him, so what we did was, we took him to my arts instructor too. She saw his work for two months, and in the letter mentioned that she’d only known him two months, and how she’d found his work. U cud do something like that.

As for the 10 min presentation, i know, i was shocked too… When u hav slides of work like sketches or paintings or photography, how do u do that…
I was lucky since I did all three. Im putting 2 music videos that i’v directed, and then filling he rest of the slot (around 4 minutes) with my sketches and photographs. Each picture stays on screen for abt 5 secs, so that covers my duration. As for u, sheesh, u’d just have to put together LOTS of pictures…

I did some math here, and here it is. U’ll need 80 pictures. Each of the pictures can stay on screen for 5 secs, and then spare two seconds for the fade in and fade out. So 7 secs per pic, and 80 pics would make around 10 minutes. To make it not boring, i’d classify the photos into collections, like 5 collections of 16 prints, which u cud sort by theme or something and then put them on. Like ‘christmas’ or ‘wedding’ or whatever u’v been covering. I know its alot of work, cuz im there… But its how it is…

First see if u even need the supplement, if ur colleges accept it. If they dont, then ur golden. If they do, then if u hav enough pictures, just sort them and put them together. If not, START SNAPPING…
