<p>You can actually and if he knows you personally, it would be even better. Schools tend to ask for 2 to 3 recommendations, 1-2 for the teachers and 1 from the counselor. But you could ask for someone (who is not relative ) who knows you really well and could write you good things about you then you should.</p>
