I have always loved to paint. It's a passion of mine, and it rejuvenates me. I have never entered my work in any contests, had any formal training, or showcase my work to anyone. I don't want to pursue this in college, at least I don't think I will want to.

However, it is unique to me, and it is a part of me. Since colleges are supposed to try and get a whole picture of me, should I send in some of my work anyways? If I do this, should I mention it in my essays, considering I don't have any (besides one Art Club) extracurricular activities related to it?

Exactly my same situation. I'm not at all interested in pursuing art in college, but my drawing/art has been recognized as one of my bigger talents (my middle school even bought some of my pieces). I kind of want to show schools this part of me, but if I don't want to do art in college then I don't know.

If it's a big part of who you are, then why wouldn't you want to continue painting, whether or not you take classes, in college?

But most colleges would prefer you send any supplemental materials to the department they concern (writing to english, etc) with a note and then that department will review it and then tell the admissions people what they think.
