Articulated courses question

If applying to a "selecting major" with the intention of TAGing a school does it matter if you don't complete the pre-reqs because there was no articulated course at your CCC?

For example, I am a psychology major who wants to TAG UCR. Psychology is a selecting major and it says "major prep must be required" because of its status as a selecting major at UCR. I have all pre-reqs complete except for 2 since there are no equivalent courses at my CCC. Will this fact leave my TAG application void?

Probably not. UCs don’t usually hold lack of pre-req classes at one’s community college against the applicant. Double-check with a UCR representative to confirm this, though.

TAG is different. You must complete all prereqs to be TAG eligible. You may still be a competitive applicant in the regular pool, but your TAG will not be accepted.

TAG apps have to follow the guidelines 100%. Any gpa, prereq, requirements must be followed to the letter.
