So for my major that I want to transfer to at my choice of school I need 4 prerequisites. However at the community college I'm planning to go to this winter, they only offer 3/4 of those classes. The last class I need says "no course articulated". I checked with all the schools near me (I live in LA) if they offer that class but none of them do. My question is, will the UC schools look down upon me not taking that prereq just because I didn't have the opportunity to take it providing I get good grades on my other prereqs?

Call the Admissions office of the UC school(s) that you hope to transfer to. They will be able to tell you what to do. Be prepared with a list of other courses that they may accept as substitutes. (So for example if they want Physics 101, and it’s not offered, ask if you can take the course Physics 102 for the Humanities (or whatever course seems similar).

Whatever solution you agree to, ask for that admission rep’s email address and name. Tell her that you’d like to send this information to her for confirmation by email so that you’re sure you’ve got it right, “if that’s okay.”

When he/she responds, KEEP THAT EMAIL for your records and be sure to gently refer to it when you apply. It’s perfectly find to submit things with your application that are businesslike, and relevant, even if they’re not asked for or required. Submitting a statement reminding them of this special circumstance is such a case.
