Hey all, I am currently in a Community College in Maryland that has an Articulation Agreement with a school I've wanted to attend for a while (UMD-College Park) and have no problem with meeting their requirements. While I really like the College Park campus, I have also wanted to go away for school.

So my question goes to those who have been in this situation... given an attainable Articulation Agreement, did you put all of your focus into applying and researching that particular 4-year school? Or did you apply to other schools even though the agreement guarantees admission (omitting any "space available" clauses)?

Just wondering what others have done in this situation.

I pretty much made a list of about 8 schools I wanted to go to n followed their requirements. Luckily for me much of the pre reqs overlapped so I didn’t have to take a bunch of different courses. I do have a goal school but I plan on applying to 6 to 8 schools.

Applications aren’t cheap. If you are sure you want to transfer to a particular school AND you have guaranteed admission, it would be silly to spend time and money applying elsewhere.

Yeah, that’s kinda what I was thinking. I’ll be living on campus so that’ll likely be far enough from home even though I also want to “go away” for school.

Thanks for the input.

I went to community college in California. The only school I knew I was applying to for sophomore year was USC so I worked off their agreement. If I had not been admitted I would have looked at other schools for a junior transfer. I’m glad to say I will be attending USC this fall for my sophomore year.
Good luck!
