Artistic acceptances MT/Acting class of 2026

Sounds like a no from Ithaca for us. I think that’s the last one we’ll hear from for a bit. Now more waiting.

Thanks for your blessing! Wish many more yes coming your way! Can’t believe this college thing is just a beginning of their long audition journey. How much passion they’ll need to handle all these? I can’t imagine!

Well, I guess March is the big month for all of us. My D is waiting to hear from 7 schools this month. Wishing the best for everyone! It’s going to be a rollercoaster of a month. We’ll all just have to take it one day at a time! BAL!

Congrats! My DD got the same offer with scholarship from OCU for MT! We will accept the scholarship by March 22, but won’t be deciding on a school until we have all the results in. Waiting on a good number of schools, so we’ll just have to see how this turns out. My DD did attend OCU for the summer audition intensive and loved being there, the facilities and professors. It’s a great option!

UArts? Anyone know long are they taking after virtual auditions to release decisions and how? Virtual audition on Feb. 12 and still no word.

Love hearing everyone’s acceptances! My daughter has BFA offers from:

LIU Post (great academic and artistic scholarships)
Manhattanville College (best academic and artistic scholarships)
AMDA
Westchester University (non audition)

Waiting on:
JMU
IAB (callback from virtual walk-in; she’s really loving this idea).

Many, many heartbreaks along the way. As of now, she can’t get herself super hyped about any of her offers. I think she’s exhausted mentally, physically, and emotionally not to mention a bit jaded by the process. We shall see. May be a gap year for her. ???

I took a gap year this year and it made this process so much more enjoyable! I also joined this amazing gap year program, called the Theatre Gap Initiative, that helps people apply to BFA acting and musical theatre programs. Through the program I got to take dance classes, acting classes, private voice once a week, I got help filming my pre-screen and dance auditions, got to do some early auditions through CAP, and we went to New York Unifieds. I honestly think taking a gap year was the best thing I could have done for myself. College is a lot of money and I didn’t want to pay thousands of dollars just to be somewhere I wasn’t going to be happy. This year not only am I getting into programs but I am getting into programs I really really love! If anyone is thinking about taking a gap year please feel free to reach out.

For UArts, My D auditioned in Chicago on 2/7, heard back via email to check portal for update on 2/22. So 2-week turnaround for us.
