What are some interesting/easy courses that can fulfill either the Arts and Literature or Philosphy and Values requirement for L&S?

Classics 10A and 10B each can be used for AL, PV, or HS

Philosophy 7: Existentialism in Film and Literature with Hubert Dreyfus.

Have posted it before, but for Arts and Literature, whenever Karin Sanders teaches Scandinavian 106 (I took in in Spring '08), it’s a very, very easy course to get by with. You’ll have just 2 5-page essays all semester, and if you do this Pass/Not-Passed, then it’s easy as hell. Hell, I basically never read and got A’s on my essays, though I was surprised some others didn’t get A’s AFTER reading (the grading must be skewed to favor skilled BS-ers over those with content! All the better if you want it easy and can BS!).

I believe Math 135 with Prof. Scanlon the coming semester satisfies Philosophy, and if you’re remotely mathematical, that should not be a hard course, though obviously if not, stay away. This is also an option many math majors use to fulfill a certain major requirement.

I’m trying to avoid writing papers so the math one looked interesting (I like math), but it requires 2 upper div math courses as prereq, so I guess I can’t take it

actually, the scandinavian course sounds interesting too, hans christian anderson…

Philosophy 12A
