Arts/literature breadth for a future biochemist?

Any "Physics for Future Presidents" equivalent for the Arts/Literature breadth? Nothing on the list looks at all interesting to me. I'm not a literature fan and I don't think I'm capable of analyzing art or music -___-

Anyone know any cool hidden classes offered in Spring that satisfy this? Or anything else that doesn't cause too much pain?

Music 20A! One of the easiest ways to satisfy your Arts and Lit requirement.

English C77’s only offered Fall…

What’s Music 20A like? Do you listen to music samples and analyze instruments/styles etc…? How do assignments/exams work?

@flutterfly: it’s not even analyzing instruments and styles. For the first week or two, you learn how rhythms work, then you sing in major keys and later in minor. There are occasional duets and canons that are also fun. Assignments are simply identifying all 7 sharps and flats, drawing beams for rhythms, and later in the semester, identifying intervals. Exams are usually 25% written, 50% prepared singing, and 25% sight-singing.

For those who have taken any band/orchestra/chorus program in high school, this class is no-brainer.

Thanks for the suggestion UpMagic, but I was never in a band/orchestra type thing and I can’t read music at all. I’m also too lame to be able to sing in front of people watching =/

Leftist, Classics 10B actually sounds great but is at the exact same time as MCB 100B :(

Looks like I’m gonna have to push this breadth back another semester?

English 80K with Wright, Study of Children’s Literature is relaxing and enjoyable. I took it for fun, but it satisfies A & L. For my breadth I took Spanish 25 (also recommended), if you happen to have the prereqs for that.
