Arts Supplement! Class of 2018

Hey guys, I specialize in graphic design and want to submit an Arts Supplement for my college apps.

I have two questions:
Since digital arts and graphic designs are of a different caliber than traditional visual arts, is the submission of supplementary materials in the digital arts (specifically graphic design, e.g. posters, tickets, banners, logos, website mock-ups, apparel designs) recommended at all by colleges? Will digital art be judged as "less praiseworthy" than the traditional arts?

Also, as the Art Director of a local magazine, I design spreads, edit spreads and perform compilation for the entire publication. This magazine represents one of my most significant commitments and one of my strongest passions. There is no way I can adequately represent an entire magazine through slideshare, so I wanted to mail a physical copy of the magazine to admissions offices of colleges I am applying to. Is there any chance this will annoy admissions officers or not be effective?

Any advice on these matters would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

To add onto that…how big should the files we submit for the drawings be? (We don’t need to send in a physical copy, right? D:)
It would be so helpful to have other people’s opinions >.<
