Just wondering if anyone knows how much an Arts Supplement for dance can influence college admissions, specifically at schools like Harvard or Stanford?

Like any other EC, it depends on your level of talent/accomplishment. Being a professional level dancer may make you stand out, while being just good will not.

It probably depends on your major. If you are a Dance/Art major, it will DEFINITELY help, there are no SAT IIs for those subjects, they are 100% Subjectively judged.

If you are a business/engineering/other unrelated major, other than showcasing a talent, I don’t think it would help too much.

@zoe2016. @entomom is correct. Being very familiar with both schools I can tell you that being a dancer at the highest level (Juilliard/American Ballet/professional) will definitely be a major plus…that is, as long as you have the academic chops to be competitive to both schools…

…and NO, both Stanford and Harvard don’t care what you declare as your major in relation to your Art supplement/extracurricular activity prowess…as a matter of fact…many get in “undeclared”…

Thank you for the replies! definitely not at a professional level of dance at the moment, so I’m thinking it won’t help very much haha
another question: i’ve recently gotten really interested in yoga and i plan to major in alternative medicine/nutrition during college.
i am planning on getting my 200 hour teaching certification for yoga this summer (summer before junior year)–will this help me stand out? thanks again, I really appreciate the help!
