Arts Supplement for EA people

I was wondering out of all the applicants, who sent in an arts supplement. I'm just curious as to what category your arts supplement was and what your admissions decision was. Thx.

national prizes on Both Musica and Visual Arts. Excellent SAT, GPA and AP scores.

Admisssion result: Rejection

Still do not understand

But good luck to you.

Visual Arts

Rejection

Piano

Rejection

does stanford scea defer? or jst accept/reject?

Music - No national awards or anything

Deferred

visual arts
rejection

Cello: Rejection

Funny thing at my school, actually. For the past three years my chamber ensemble's best cellists have all applied to Stanford EA and all been rejected...me being the 3rd. Weird eh?

maybe our arts portfolio were just not good enough?

wneckid, stanford does defer, but a very small number as compared to the other ivy league schools. they take pride in the fact that they provide a decision for 80% of their EA applicants right on the spot without going through deferral.

hmm i'm not really feeling confident about my upcoming decision on monday from what i've seen on this post...i sent in a violin arts supplement, but i'm only state status, not national. i'm just getting nervous as monday comes

TO thegong? Yale or MIT? best luck

To Sadface: I almost think they do not even look at them...it totally does not make any sense. I read something about the Yale art supplement, it said that only a percentage of the art suppls get reviewed. Who knows, we can only guess.

actually i'm waiting on stanford. i didn't get my e-mail on friday, weird as it is. i'm just terrified at the stats for people who got rejected, and i figure its better to in with low expectations and be super surprised if i get in than go in feeling confident and be super depressed if i don't get in. anyway thanks man, my countdown to monday seems to last a lifetime

I hear you and good luck

Looking back, I wish I had spent 10 years developing this for my music supplement:

YouTube - Nathan "Flutebox" Lee and Beardyman @ Google, London

=)

this thread is making me NERVOUS!!
i applied with a visual arts supplement RD, but seeing the stats now, i'm freaking out!
what did you guys think about your portfolios?
were you confident about them at all??

DVD - My awesome flash animations compilation, with an animated intro showing off some of my visual artwork (Since stanford only allows for 2 art supplements).

CD - Piano. Played Rachmaninoff moments musicaux 4 and Liszt Hungarian rhapsody 6. Wonderful recordings

I got DEFERRED EEEEEE
I am happy.

Holy wow. That youtube thing is mindblowing.

Brilliant.
