I noticed that under "Supplements" on the Common Application it says that if you indicated under "Future Plans" that you intend to submit an optional arts supplement, a tab would show up there. But I went to the "Future Plans" tab and couldn't find any traces of indicating that I intend to submit an arts supplement. Anyone know how to find it? I've heard that it is quite hard to find...

Only some Common App member colleges use the Common App Arts Supplement. If the college uses the Arts Supplement, a question will display for that college on the Future Plans section. The question reads,
"Art Supplement: If you would like to have your special talent in one or more of the arts considered as part of the admission process, this institution will accept the Common Application Optional Arts Supplement.
I will be using this optional supplement ( ) Yes ( ) No ( ) Yes, but I will submit it via paper "

So you’re saying for schools that don’t have this question under Future Plans, I just submit the arts supplement directly? I’m mainly talking about UChicago and Brown.

Neither Brown nor Chicago use the Common App Arts Supplement. I would look on the schools’ websites for guidance about how to best submit your materials. Could be they have their own form and/or process for having those materials considered as part of your admissions application. You can definitely contact the admissions offices as well. They’ll be happy to help you and would much rather you ask and then use their preferred forms or process.

I applied to Brown ed…and I sent an arts supplement containing a music cd, resume, recommendation from my music teacher and also the common app arts supplement form. I just realised that brown does not accept that form. but will they accept the rest even though I sent them with the form?

I have teh same question…
