I'm just curious, assuming you are at a professional level, how big of a hook is photography as an arts supplement for Stanford?

I’m under the impression that once received, the arts supplements, if deemed high quality enough, are transferred to the specific academic departments for review. How much it will help your application depends on how much the professor who is to review the supplement values your work — for instance, if s/he loves it so much that he tells the admission office that this is the most incredible photography that he has seen in his lifetime, I think that would indeed help you immensely in admissions.

Curious about this as well.

I’d love to see some of the work from a fellow photographer! Care to trade portfolios (or work in progress portfolios)? PM if interested (:

^You can find links in the art major forum, I think.

Thanks for the suggestion, xrCalico23! I’ve taken a look, but I’m a bit more interested in students who apply to top non-art-centric schools (HYPS) and submit professional photography portfolios as an arts supplement.
