Is there a disadvantage to mailing the arts supplement, rather than submitting it electronically online?

http://www.princeton.edu/admission/applyingforadmission/checklist/

Seeing as PTon includes a mailing slip, (http://princeton.edu/admission/pdfs/OptionalArts14.pdf)

I don’t think they are out to trick anyone when they say they accept mailed items.

Has anyone tried to begin an art supplement before submitting an application? Can it be done? I see this:

“You may submit an optional Arts Supplement only if you have completed the required Common Application and writing supplement, or the Universal Common Application and Princeton supplement to the Universal Common Application.”

Does this mean that you can’t even begin, that is, open a new arts supplement app? My son was trying to start it last night (he has not submitted his application), but it kept giving him an error saying the pin and email didn’t match. Do you think that’s the reason, or should he contact Princeton and ask?
