arts supplement

Ive been a fairly successful debater and plan on writing at least a couple of my essays on the work I've done for the debate community and what it has meant to me. For uchi's arts supplement can I send in some of my original work in the form of a typed debate case? would chicago consider this art, or would I be better suited to send in another form or not send at all.

thanks.

How are you planning to write your essays about debate? I don't see how that fits the books&movies one or the why Chicago one. You could possibly meld it into the longer essay, but it doesn't sound too creative and would probably look like you just gave them an essay you wrote for another school's application. Besides, they'll already know you like debate from the ECs section. Add something different in your essays.

supplementary submissions are welcome, from what i remember about the app when i applied. i dont know if the supplement HAS to be fine arts related... but i would make sure that they accept things like that. for some of the other schools, i emailed/called them directly and asked if they accepted my extra submissions.
even if adcoms know u like debate from ur application, it never hurts to emphasize it.

in my case, adcoms knew i liked music bc i had orchestra and typical music stuff in my app.
but i sent in a supplementary submission of recording of a piano composition i wrote plus a violin piece. my short essay #2 was even about piano composition. but i got in!
