Hi guys,
I'm applying REA to stanford, and I'm submitting the commonapp arts supplement. I also have an audition with the theatre department on campus in late october.
did anyone else submit the arts supplement and believe it helped their chances significantly?

I spoke with an admission officer recently and asked about the impact that an art supplement can have on your application. She said that it really depends on the level of talent demonstrated as well as the dedication to back it up (i.e. resume, recommendation). And even then, it’s not enough to exactly get you accepted but it can be something “extra” added to your application to separate you from the crowd. I know that’s a really vague answer. I didn’t feel like she gave me the answer I was hoping before but honestly, there’s not much more she could’ve said. It really does depend on the individual. I know people who got in with incredible art supplements and people who got in with mediocre art supplements so you’re never going to know if the art supplement was a large deciding factor for that individual or not…
