ArtsBridge Summer

Hi guys! i just wanted to know if anyone else got into the ArtsBridge Summer Musical Theatre Intensive!
Also, for people who have done it before. What is it like? What do they focus on?

My D did it twice, but it seems to change every year. They focused a lot on the audition process. It’s also helpful to meet some of the faculty from some of the MT programs out there. However keep in mind this can be good AND bad. They may learn more about you than you want them to. Remember, in an audition you have some control, you come extremely prepared, dressed to the nines, and bring to them songs and monologues that show off your skills. At ArtsBridge they may give you music to sing that is not quite right for you and shows your weaknesses, or a monologue that you completely blow. You might have some bad hair days or face break-outs and not always look your best. If you oversleep one morning and are late for class, they might remember that. On the other hand, the advantage for you is that you are checking THEM out, too. My D eliminated some very popular programs that she otherwise likely would have applied to because she didn’t feel she “clicked” with certain faculty at ArtsBridge. And there were other faculty that made her very excited about certain programs. One huge highlight: dance classes taught by Michelle Chasse (from BOCO) who is also just an utter delight. That alone made my daughter have a REALLY difficult time turning down BOCO.
