Are there any really artsy people at Duke? Or are most people jocks?

There definitely are all SORTS of people at Duke.

I guess I have a few definitions of "artsy," but you can pretty much find them all. Freshman year you can actually choose to live in an Arts themed dorm (people interested in music, painting, dance, etc etc), and then on west campus there is actually the Arts Theme House, which is a selective living group you rush. I live in the same building as ATH, and there are a few perks depending on what type of "artsy" you are. There are two, I believe, pianos/music practice rooms in the building. They also have a giant closet of art supplies for members to use at no cost. AND this semester they just began something called "Open Studio" where you can basically just go and paint and do whatever you want in the basement of Edens 3B.

Music, Dance, Theater, Studio Art etc etc all have their niches on campus. Look for groups during the Student Activities fair to get involved with...take a studio art/dance class and you'll meet some really interesting people!
