As a Dartmouth hopeful, I'm asking for advice?

Hello!

I am a junior in high school looking for advice! What are your guidelines for getting into Dartmouth? In your opinion, what credentials should I have?

I will have several AP classes completed, a recommendation letter from a state official closely associated with Harvard, a teacher recommendation from a Harvard alumni, and numerous extra curricular activities (leadership roles). I'm maintaining a 4.0 GPA currently and am in the top 5-10% of my class.

Here's my problem- I preformed rather poorly during my sophomore year. I was in the hospital for a while, and in the middle of the year I transferred schools. Then, during what was supposed to be my junior year, I fell ill and had to be placed on medical leave. I was out of school the entire year, and unfortunately had to stay back. I was diagnosed with an illness and am now considered medically disabled. I'm afraid this is going to severely hurt my chances, but I've told it could be an opportunity to stand out.

I will be submitting artwork (I paint) and a video of me preforming (singing), as they were highly encouraged on the FAQs.

I'm worried the problems during my sophomore year, and then having to stay back will ruin my chances. I have been able to overcome my problems and am performing extremely well in school- would that be appealing to admissions? Thank you!
