Hello, thanks for reading my post. I've been in honors classes for English for most of high school, except for junior year when I went to a tiny private school that only offered honors courses in math. In the fall I'm attending a local community college for my general education classes, and this school requires a placement test. On the placement test I scored a 100 in Reading and a 99 in Writing. I was automatically advised to take English 102, and to skip 101. The school gave me credit for 101 even though I don't have to take it, which is very nice. It pleased my parents, who are pushing me to take hard classes (which I have no idea how to prepare for).

So now I'm having second thoughts about enrolling in this course. I know I can do it, I just don't want to put too much pressure on myself in my first semester. I just turned seventeen, and my age alone will set me back. Also, since this isn't an AP class, grades aren't weighted and if I make B's that would be great, if you looked at all the factors (my age, the fact that I skipped 101). But I want to maintain A's, very badly. After two years in this school I hope to transfer to Washington University in St. Louis, which is notorious in my area for turning down good students. So, I have to be excellent. Their acceptance rate for transfers is less than 20%. If I would do better to stick with 101 and strive for A's there, I would certainly like to know.

Anyway, any advice is appreciated. Thank you!
