As a junior in HS need some help and guidance for college

hello everyone first off happy early christmas.
Im currently a junior at Duncanville, Texas (next to dallas) "duncanville high school"
my gpa is 2.93 (freshman year + sophmore year )
my rank is 378 out of 1050 students in my class only

I want to apply at ut austin, texas a&m, and maybe ut arlinton for aerospace enginnering.
My dreams are pretty BIG for my low stats.

Some background info so maybe you all can understand why my stats are so low is that I got Narcolepsy(barely found out this school yr). So i really screwed up freshman and sophomore year and I realize that i cannot blame narcolepsy 100% but i cant fix the damage thats been done.

Thats why this year i tried my best to get my gpa to what is possible. Been getting only a &b's this year. Getting really high grades in some classes too such as english 3=98,97(some of my teachers been screwing my grades btw).

I also wanted to know if I should try to take some ap classes my next semester.
I havent took any in highschool.
also my school has an engineering class. I didnt even know until a few weeks ago(my school is pretty big ), so i was wondering if i should take that my 2nd semester.

Im also want to let you all know that i learn very easily, so i very sure i could handle two or three ap classes. but i want to know if its worth it? or should I period?

btw ive taken the psat and havent got the results.

Talk with your GC. Don’t blame your teachers for your failures. Ask how you can improve in their classes. Inform your GC of where you want to go and set a course. Try and start your standardized testing this spring, both SAT and ACT. Also ask your GC to talk about your narcolepsy when you apply to these colleges.

Take AP courses during your senior, 3 sounds pretty good with the situation that you’re in. Also, I do recommend taking engineering classes if possible. At my school we have a three-tier academy, and next semester I will be in the 3rd tier, which involves local internships with engineering companies in our city. Why? Because the experience gained from engineering courses will be applicable to what you want to do, instead of taking more classes that may not help you out in your future endeavors. I took these classes and I feel it’s helped me out in terms of not only college admissions, but problem solving and collaboration as well.

Push for that top 10% if possible, I believe it’s auto admit into the UT system.

Never to late to turn around, even though you may not get into the college you’d prefer.

Good luck!

UT Austin’s auto-admit threshold is top 7% now. Note also that auto-admit to the campus may not necessarily mean auto-admit to a major.

I apologize for blaming my teachers. Its usually little things from them like inputing grades correctly. I always end up have to nag a couple of them before the end of six weeks. Most of my teachers are actually some of the best at my school. I have no problem with them. They just make minor mistakes that have great consequences.

But anyway I was thinking about writing about my narcolepsy in my third essay and how its like and its influence on my view on life.

I was talking about ap classes for my second half(2nd semester) for my junior year(this school year.)Should I?

Should i take some senior year because they wont even see it on my application right?

and ill take engineering second semester if my counselors allow it

yeah ill have to check on the 7% thing. It might be better for me since it almost certainly possible that i will not be able to get there by the end of this school year, but i am and will continue to strive for as high as gpa/rank as possible.

just finished checking you were right about that 7%thing

You should take AP classes this year and next IF you can handle the workload and get a B or better. Yes, the senior year ones count because they show you are challenging yourself by taking the most rigorous courses. Colleges will see your mid-year grades and use them (except for EA or ED).
But don’t make the mistake of piling on more APs than you can really handle.
Yes, take engineering!
