Do you guys adivse that I take the Spanish, or Spanish w/ Listening SAT IIs? I'm not a native speaker nor have I taken neither of the APs.

How about with Korean? Should I risk it? I'm a native speaker (listening skills are good), but my writing/reading isn't that great. I know there would be a lot of better native speakers and international students messing around with that one, so I don't tihnk I even want to try.

Japanese I won't be ready to take. I would've only had taken Japanese for a full year.

Do you guys think I should try the Spanish (and maybe even the Korean) SAT II?

wait. Ive you are native level speaker you must take the AP test/class/sat2, whichever you want to take. You may think you are not a good writer, and maybe you arent, but i guarantee you that if you are a native level speaker, then that makes youat least 20x more advanced than kids taking AP korean (assuming they are white anglophones).

I agree with you, OP, that you should probably not take the Korean test. You are correct in thinking that there are many students who are fully fluent in both speaking and reading who will probably do better, and it looks bad to score poorly (really, anything <800) on your native language.

I think you certainly could take Spanish, but it would really depend upon how proficient you feel. Spanish, too, has many native speakers taking it, and while colleges know it is not your native language, it could make your ra score look pretty ugly. I took French after three years (as a Junior), prior to taking AP French my senior year, and scored a 760. which I was happy with...so it can be done, but French has fewer natives, and I am quite strong in that course and at SAT testing in general.

I would probably recommend only taking these if you feel there aren't enough other SAT IIs you're qualified for.

In high school, I've never failed to score below a 98 as a final grade in any of my Spanish classes, and my teacher has recommended me for AP Span Lang and Lit (because he think's I can do it). If I do try Spanish SAT II, I'm confient in at least a 720. Won't they consider the fact that I'm not a native speaker?

Sungchul, I think you should take the Spanish with Listening. I noticed you're applying to Gtown - I applied (and got in) with a 620 in Japanese after 2 years of taking it. So really, a low score won't kill you. They realize you aren't a native speaker of that language. And if you think you can get ANYTHING greater than 700, then I say go for it.

you have to send it in. with SAT 2's it is all or none.
They either see all SAT 1 and 2s, or none, but i dont think that is an option for some schools he will probably apply to.

I've decided to retake my MathIIC (740) and my Chem (700) and also try out Spanish w/ Listening. Of course, I won't get the scores back in time to go for early anything anywhere, so it'll be for back up for regular.
