As-Level and A-level??? IB and AP???

<p>What is AS-level stuff and A-level ?? I know it's a british thing. But is it like AP and IB ? All first-year- credit courses??</p>

<p>Differeence betweeen AS-level and A-level?</p>

<p>I hear APs are incomparable with A-level or As-level (making us north americans feel stupid =()</p>

<p>Also I need someone to confirm this.</p>

<p>i did A levels.they are two year courses.
AS levels are one year courses (much easier than A levels)
AS levels are subsets of A levels.
incomparable to AP ? maybe. I’d rather think it’s comparable. But haven’t done APs so don’t know for sure
Comparable to IB ? definitely not (frens who have tasted A levels and done IB told me)
IB is much superior i guess.</p>

<p>I think A level is more of a broader course than AP</p>

<p>there is no AS level further maths. Only A level further maths.
And it is regarded the toughest course in A levels. After that comes A level Law i think.</p>

<p>i dunno abt two years in Math. But i have heard abt seniors getting credit for the course.
Yet since it is a british course, many colleges in the US do not give credit for it, however hard the course may be.</p>

<p>And abt scoring , it follows a grading system,— A B C D E and U, where A is obviously the highest grade and U is Ungraded (meaning failure)</p>

<p>How frequent are A(s) in A-level Further Mathematics? I hear it has never been achieved, is that true? Because IB Further Maths Sl has never given a 7 before and it only covers half of A-level.</p>
