AS levels equal A levels?

Hi,

Would taking 8 AS level subjects be equivalent to 4 A level subjects?

Because I can only take AS levels, so how would I get into uni without 3 or 4 A levels?ie. would 6-8 AS levels count? :)

Thanks

Universities revceive something called a Secondary School Report, which outlines what the school offers and what the student could take. So if for some reason you can’t take A classes and only AS ones, if that was the most rigorous available the school will know and they won’t penalize you harshly as if you had just been lazy or something.

Hi, i am also taking A levels.

As for the UK they require 3A lvls and 1 AS
and in the UK you CANNOT take 6 AS in place of 3 A LVLS.

I dont have any idea about the US but for the UK you wont be able to apply on those standards.

MOST universities take EITHER 3 A levels OR 2 A levels AND 2 As levels.

You really have to confirm with whichever university you’re going how many As Levels can exactly replace how many A levels. Some schools take more than 4 As levels, some take none :)

I see no reason not to take a few of your As levels onto A level though

And 8 As levels? Gee I’m only taking 4 and getting stressed, how do you do that at your school??

AFAIK you have to take a minimum of 2 A2 before you can start choosing AS levels. So If you want to show 4 A Levels with as few A2s as possible, it would be 2 x A2, 4 x AS.

I took 4 x A2. It wasn’t very stressful.

I took 4 A2 and 1 AS :)
