My essays are good, the $10 one shows passion for music, my academic one shows my interest in history (I'm going to major in it). They are well written and my gifted support teacher likes them a lot.

My recommendations are good. One is good, the other is great. My GC's is pretty good as well.

So, I'm just getting anxious I guess, so that's about all.

Thanks

Also, I just had an on campus interview and that went well, as far as I can judge. I think that's the last of it.
thanks

You have a great chance. I think you will get in

everything looks good to me, especially that on-campus interview.

good luck!

thanks for the replies. funny thing...i found out that i'm 10/460 in rank now, not all that important but applicable nontheless.

I think you are sexy as well and will surely be admitted to this fine institution of higher learning.

anyone else want to venture a rather risque opinion of my chances of admittance to The Johns Hopkins University?

just a note: to MY knowledge, i don't think adcoms takes composites of different SAT I versions (in your case, i don't know that they would take the old math and replace the new math with 800).

i don't know...i'm just being meticulous about that. as for chances, i don't know anything that would help...hah

well i got 770 Math II in oct. but the apps are out of my hands now so time to wait with the other (approximately) 800 EDers to JHU!

Did you just pull that 800 number out of thin air?

Yeah. the 800 was entirely arbitrary, but judging by the number previous years ED apps and the subsequent increase, I think it's a reasonable number.

So yeah, it basically came from thin air.

whoa....NOW i am intimidated......by the coolguyusa123, haha
I would post my "resume" up too.....but I don't think I'll want an overload of comments saying "you won't get in!" "are you crazy?!" or "hahahahah loser"....
Ok, not ALL parts of my apps are that bad, just my hs grades, haha.

Only EXTRA positives I have going for me are:
JHU Precollege Summer 04
JHU Precollege Summer 05
Volunteer at JHH @ Weinburg Surgical Suite '04
Intern at JHH @ Emergency Dept and Weinburg '05
Professor Rec from one of my precollege courses (he also offered me a research with him and some grad students during freshman year if i get in =D!)
Awesome on-campus interview (my interviewer and I still KIT! haha)
.....would these even be considered favorable by admissions committee? Do I have a chance? Even if my gpa is looww? =/

cuz I think everyone has similar STELLAR ECs, APs, IBs, National Merits, SATs, etc.....

eeekk...nervewrecking.....

now that it's out of my hands, anyone else want to comment, considering I'm extremely nervous? Updated stats: 770 Math IIC and my rank is 10/460. Any comments are appreciated. (And by the way, I'll be sending a recording of my trombone-playing tomorrow.)

coolguy, ur making me really nervous. but good job on ur amazing scores and such. just make sure ur trombone cd's not too long, i was warned that for my cd, if its over 10 min, they're either not listen, or listen but get annoyed. good luck!!

tina,
Is that a serious question? Those things are awesome, its like u live at jhu. When the admin officer came to my school he told us about academic recruitment, like athletic recruitment. Sounds like ur situation to me

The spider and the fly

ok this is completly stupid but i can never get these dumb blue book problems...ok so can ne one help me with it?
In a rectangular room 30'x12'x12', a spider is at the middle of an end wal, on foot from the celling
The fly is at the middle of the opposite end wall, one foot above the floor. The fly is so frightened it cant move.
What is the shortest distance the spider must crawl in order to capture the fly?(hint less then 42') i may seem totally stupid but i need help and my teacher wont help ne one out with these so i hope u help...thanks

hmm...working on spider problems.... intriguing...

....and dknicks, wow really? admin officer said that?? unfortunately, no reps came to our school/area this year (made me so sad). Thanks for giving me hope! =). I sent in my ED app this morning at 4:30am PST....it's outta my hands now, and it's up to the adcoms from here......dramatic music

=]

luv=xtina*

hmm....

when it says "end wall" does it require that the 12'x12' walls have to be end walls?
-or-
is this one of those word-tricky problems so that the spider can slide down its thread for its own wall, then CRAWL for 31 feet?

what math, or what class, is this for? What're blue book problems?
