swimmergirl–where did you get the info that Choate will notify on March 9? Choate is one of the TSAO schools which agree to notify on M10. Per Choate’s website:

Even though, as FA applicants, we were asked in advance if our son could accept a slot at full-pay, we were not given official notification of acceptance until M10.

THe GoChoate portal says March 9th at 9 am
“Applications submitted by January 10 are guaranteed a March 9th decision” as stated on the homepage of the portal

Why can’t decisions come out this week like in days schools? This wait is kiling me!

I feel you, I feel you.

I keep getting @swimmergirl3 and @needtoboard mixed up because at first glance your avatars are similar! Gah!

Funny thing is, I get us mixed up too! I look at the icon and think “Oh, this must be me!” Then I read the post and I’m like “wait… I never posted this…?” and then I have a moment of realization

lol they do look alike! I never really noticed it.

I’m guessing yours, @needtoboard , is Exeter? Mine is Venice, Italy

@swimmergirl3 you’re right!

Mine is Brussels (sprouts). Because that is actually a place, which is why there is a debate over whether or not it should be capitalized!

Brussels sprouts are so cute! They’re mini cabbages

Never considered them cute, but okay! :)

@rareparadox: top choice is Lawrenceville too. What do you know about their Internet and cell phone usage policies? What’s really bad is our local school says we must pay an almost $2k nonrefundable deposit now, they won’t hold the spot. It is a great, very popular school. Bummer to throw away that kind of money if it’s good news on the 10th but we can’t risk it. We only applied to the very top schools because it’s not worth the sacrifice to us to be apart if it isn’t for a truly amazing school. There’s no feeling of going to boarding school just to say you did it.

You guys are pretty lucky to have M10 notification date. The school I’m applying to doesn’t even have a date listed anywhere. Sometime at the beginning of March though is when I’ve heard for mine.

Good luck, @Writer4Life! I’m sure they’ll tell you when we get closer.

Thanks @stargirl3 I’ve been talking to a current student (the one I stayed with at the overnight open house), and she said I should email the school and ask if there’s a date. So I think I might.

I don’t think it could hurt you!

I’m waiting for my mom to get home before I actually send it, since she wants to read over it, but I’ve decided I will. I’m too anxious to wait and see haha!

I know exactly how you feel Writer4Life. My day school didn’t tell us anything about decision dates. They just said they would release test results in January. Then, one Friday when I was out, , my friend texted me saying she got her test results. I came home to an acceptance letter. It was crazy and completely unexpected.
