The sorting hat said that it couldn’t decide for me between Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff. :(

@davidthenerd
pick ravenclaw. because if you squint at your computer screen hard enough you can pretend you go to Yale. A very magical, non-existent version of Yale.

I am a Slytherin.

Ravenclaw. No time spent under the sorting hat. It winked and nodded me along.

Ravenclaw.
CA CAWW CA CAWW. <<< At least I think that’s the sound that a raven makes

Pottermore sorted me in Ravenclaw. I’d assume the majority of CC is Ravenclaw or Slytherin

lol I’m a Gryffindor - and really upset about it.

Pottermore sorted me into Ravenclaw. My brother is a Gryffindor and my cousin a Hufflepuff. Yay for diversity.

Very Potter musical the sequel is just awesome.
And Bonnie’s song as Hermione (coolest girl) INSPIRING
Now come on where’s the house pride guys?

@kimmy, I think the Ravenclaw crest is actually an eagle. XD

I think I’m a Slytherin

But but Ravenclaw is RAVENclaw
It can’t be an eagle.
My life is a lie

I’m a Hufflepuff.

As far as Gryffindors and Slytherins go, they’re basically the same (loyal to friends and able to face a challenge when they want). The one difference is that Gryffindors are more “brave” and would jump into a fight for something they believe in without hesitation, while Slytherins would be more careful about picking fights.
For example, when Snape was pretending to be on Voldermort’s side and didn’t say anything when innocent people were killed, because he knew he couldn’t stop Voldermort that way. He was a Slytherin.
Either one can be good or bad I guess, depending on the situation.

Ravenclaws are the clever ones and/or value being clever above all else. Hufflepuff are the ones who value “goodness” above all else.

^ Well said.
Hufflepuffs are the hard workers. The ones who do good and hardly ever get credit.
But that’s ok. We’re hufflepuffs

So, I made a Pottermore account just to find my house.

The sorting hat asked some obvious house-related questions that I decided to answer honestly. (E.g., What would you do if you heard something at night? Pick one: think your way out of it [Ravenclaw], fight your way out of it [Griffindor], etc.)

I thought the standard “Ravenclaw” choice was dumb; it’s not practical to hide behind a wall calculating and analyzing scenarios when a serial killer could attack you at any moment. You have to act, not just think. That said, it’s also too brazen to jump out immediately and “stand your ground” against an unknown enemy without thinking at all. (Are Griffindors really that reckless?)

Some of the “vices” were also predictable. Hmm, I wonder which house would choose “cowardly?” (Hufflepuff.) Or “selfish?” (Slytherin.) I wonder which house would pick the serpent-engraved tail of the coin over the brave-looking head of the coin? (Come on, JK Rowling. Too easy.)

I tended to go with a happy medium when picking my answers instead of just sorting myself into a house. (I should have just sorted myself into a house.) As a result, I got delegated to Hufflepuff. House-wise, Hufflepuff’s the laughingstock of the entire Harry Potter series. I refuse to be typecast as a happy, beaver-esque loser. I’m not in Hufflepuff. I’ll stay a Muggle.

tl;dr

I am officially never logging on to Pottermore ever again.

You could say I’m bitter. :)

/endrant

I almost never logged on again when my assigned username was RookQuaffle904803.

Pottermore put me into Gryffindor
I was sure that was the house I definitely wasn’t going to get, but I’m pretty happy!

Correction:

Cedric Diggory was a laughing stock in the Harry Potter series?

Honestly, Hufflepuff is not the throw away house. I don’t understand what so many people have against it.

^ AGREED
Hufflepuffs aren’t described as cheerful but rather hard working and loyal.
No one credits them and we hear hardly anything about them but they’re the sort of people that are down to earth hardworking people.
Hufflepuff hate is a part of life though.
So.
But it’s a badger not a beaver. YouTube honeybadger it’s the hufflepuff rally crt
