Does anyone know if I can take the 8.02 ase for fall credit or iap credit after orientation?
Also, in what situations would a school, employer, etc. want to see hidden freshmen grades and does this happen often?

Generally speaking, nobody cares about hidden grades, and MIT will not release them without a great deal of effort and desire on your part.

The only time I’ve ever heard of people having to reveal first semester grades is for applications to Johns Hopkins’ MD program.

The academic guide deals with ASE results in freshman year here.

so if I have a full schedule for freshman year, I won’t be able to take an ase on december?

You wouldn’t be able to take one in December, but you would be able to take one during IAP.

ok, IAP sounds good. what the schedule for that? is the test at the end of IAP?

You’ll have to contact the department.

Note: If you take them during IAP, they are ABC/NR for frosh.
